Behind Working With…
Lara Monro is a creative strategist working with artists, practitioners, and collectives at the point where an idea becomes a project. Her practice is editorial: she works closely with creatives to sharpen what they're making and why, then helps them shape, position, and resource it, whether that's through public funding, a commission, or a new direction entirely.
She draws on more than a decade of editorial and strategic work across the UK arts and culture sector, including as Editor at Large (UK/Europe) for the LA-based arts magazine Autre, studio and project manager for practitioners, and affiliate mentor with Ceri Hand and the Creative Mentor Network. She has worked with galleries and organisations including White Cube, The Dot Project, Open Space, and Work Show Grow.
Through her practice, Working With, Lara has supported over 300 artists to develop and realise their work. Collectively, her clients have raised more than £800,000 in public investment.
She regularly delivers workshops with collectives and organisations including I Like Networking, Make Your Own Masters, V&A Young People, Art Meets Culture and Sheroes.
